The annual light show at Canary Wharf is located in the business district and is also a popular place for shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants

The festival of light in Amsterdam lights the city from December to 21 January

The city is glittering in an amazing show, which many do not know that national and international artists have created unique and special works for the festival in more than 40 presentations

Chinese New Year In London

Chinese New Year, known in modern Chinese as the "Spring Festival"  is the important Chinese festival celebrated  Chinese New Year is on 18 January, initiating another year of the dog.
 The day is an occasion for Chinese families to gather for the annual reunion dinner. It is also traditional for every family to thoroughly cleanse the house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of "good fortune" or "happiness", "wealth", and "longevity". Every year, dancers, acrobats, cheerleaders, marching bands, historic vehicles and more join a colourful celebration of contemporary performances and traditional ceremonies with huge balloons, music and confetti filling the air.

More than 8,500 performances, representing 20 countries, will take part, including Pirelli kings and kingdoms, cheerleaders, marching bands, dancers and representatives of West End shows. The Christmas market in Dordrecht, close to Rotterdam, is an annual three-day festival. With 2.5 kilometers of over 200 stalls, this is the largest Christmas market in Holland.

 Dordrecht's Christmas market is known for its cozy atmosphere. The stalls have an extensive offer of attractive Christmas gifts which, accompanied by various delicious hot treats, live entertainment, and a magnificent ice-skating-rink, lead for the perfect Christmas experience in the city center of Dordrecht. The Christmas market has a route of 2,5km and leads you through the beautiful historic city center and inland harbors. The Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is an annual winter festival that takes place with a theme in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China, and now is the largest and the biggest ice sculptures ice and snow festival in the world.

Officially, the festival starts on Dec 21 and lasts one month. However, exhibits often open earlier and stay longer, weather permitting. While ice sculptures are erected throughout the city, there are two main exhibition areas:

• Sun Island is a recreational area on the opposite side of the Songhua River from the city, which features an expo of enormous snow sculptures.

• Ice and Snow World is an area open at night which features illuminated full size buildings made from blocks of 2–3' thick ice taken directly from the Songhua River. 

During the festival, there is ice lantern park touring activities held in many parks in the city. Winter activities during the festival include Yabulialpine skiing, winter-swimming in the Songhua River, and the ice-lantern exhibition in Zhaolin Garden.

The Rhine in Flames in St. Louis Goar St. Goarshausen. 

The towns of Saint-Guar and St.-Guarchausen are prepared to accept the tens of thousands who are expected to arrive at the traditional fireworks display at the foot of the Lorelli and the romantic castles of Reinplas and Katz for more than 60 years.
 About 50 light-colored passenger ships in the middle of the Rhine in the evening, the vast festival of light can begin on both shores of the river with the big finish and the huge glittering spectacle taking place in the center of the Rhine.

The most colourful house and techno parade in the world fascinate hundreds of thousands of dance fans from every continent. Around 25 Love Mobiles, brightly decorated trucks packed with giant music systems, DJs and party people, drive at walking pace through the crowd of people around Lake Zurich. In addition to these 25 mobile platforms, nine stages along the route round off the contemporary electronic music selection

The 26th Street Parade is to be held on Saturday, 12 August 2017, kicking off at 1.00 pm and ending at midnight. About 100 mega- and smaller-scale parties will be held in and around Zürich over the Parade weekend, from Friday evening right through to the early hours of Monday morning.

The Route

The 2.4 km–long Street Parade route will be the same as in the previous year. The Street Parade will begin at Utoquai in the Zürich neighbourhood of Seefeld, from where it will head around the lakefront via Bellevue, Quaibrücke and Bürkliplatz, arriving at Hafendamm Enge at around 10 pm. The fun will continue at the after-parties at Mythenquai, Bellevue, Bürkliplatz, Rentenanstalt and Limmatquai until midnight. The entire Street Parade route can be easily reached on foot from the city centre or the central station.

The Street Parade is a dance demonstration in favour of love, peace, freedom and tolerance. This year's motto, «Love never ends», shows clearly that although much is transient in life, the values of the Street Parade are always with us.

 Rhein in Flammen (English: "Rhine in Flames") is the name of five different firework displays along the  river Rhine in Germany. The displays take place annually, at various locations along the river.

 On the five different dates, brightly illuminated ships sail the river in an evening convoy for their passengers t see  the full firework display at each location of the river. The firework displays are started when the ships arrive. During the firework displays in St. Goar and St. Goarshausen, the convoy waits statically between the two castles Burg Maus and Burg Rheinfels. On the river banks wine festivals take place that attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The biggest "Rhein in Flammen" event takes place in Koblenz every year, on the second Saturday in August. The Bonn event takes place at the Rheinauen Park in Bonn, on the first Saturday in May.

European Heritage Days (EHD) is a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission involving all 50 signatory states of the European Cultural Convention under the motto, Europe: a common heritage. The annual programe offers opportunities to visit buildings, monuments and sites, many of which are not normally accessible to the public. It aims to widen access and foster care for architectural and environmental heritage. These events are also known as Doors Open Days and Open Doors Days in English-speaking countries.

The event began in France in 1984, 1985, in Granada  . The Netherlands held their first Open Monumentendag in 1987. Sweden and the Republic of Ireland joined in 1989, and Belgium and Scotland in 1990.

In 1991 these events were united as European Heritage Days at the initiative of the Council of Europe, supported by the EU. By 2010, 50 signatory states of the European Cultural Convention had joined the EHDs.
